The next municipal election to elect a Mayor, Councillors and School Board Trustees will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018.

Nomination papers will be available here and as well as at the Clerk’s Department, Township of Perry, located at 1695 Emsdale Road, Emsdale, Ontario on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

The Township of Perry along with several other participating municipalities within Almaguin Highlands are seeking individuals who are interested in joining the Joint Compliance Audit Committee.  This is a paid position and you would be responsible for addressing any auditing candidate’s financial expenses if requested.  For more information on how to apply, please click here.

Voting Method

The election method for the 2018 Municipal Election in the Township of Perry will be Vote By Mail.  See By-law 2017-26 Vote By Mail.

    This date is also the deadline for withdrawal

Municipal Elections Act

Municipal elections in all Ontario municipalities, including the Township of Perry, are governed by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (the “MEA”).  On June 9, 2016, the Municipal Elections Modernization Act, 2016, or Bill 181, received Royal Assent, making a number of changes to the MEA.
