The Township’s budget sets out an estimate of the sums that will be required during the year for the purpose of the municipality. Based on these estimates, the municipality determines the tax levy that is required to cover both the operating and capital expenditures for the year. Operating expenditures include salaries, materials, and other supplies required in the daily operations of the municipality, while capital expenditures include the costs associated with the maintenance and improvement of the Township’s core assets, such as roadways, bridges/culverts, facilities, machinery, and equipment.
