As of July 18, 2020, the Community Parks (including playgrounds) in both Novar and Emsdale will be OPEN to the public. Further, Public Beaches, Brooks Falls, Perry Township Dog Park, Public Boat Launches, and the Municipal Gazebo are open (all subject to change without notice).

At this time, due to Public Health Advisories surrounding COVID-19, our public events (e.g. Christmas in July, etc.) will not be able to occur in 2020. Sport programming (softball, ball hockey, etc.) has been also cancelled for the 2020 season. For more information, please contact the Municipal Office at (705) 636-5941.

Emsdale/Novar Rinks

The Township has two outdoor rinks for your enjoyment which operate seasonally and weather permitting. Novar rink is located at 54 McCrandle Street, Novar.  Emsdale rink is located at 32 Joseph Street, Emsdale.

Perry Roughnecks Softball (ages 6-13) runs every Sunday and Thursday, from Thursday, May 28, 2020 to Sunday, July 26, 2020.  Games start at 6:30 p.m. at the Emsdale Park (32 Joseph Street). The registration fee per child is $20.

T-Ball (ages 4-7) may run on Tuesdays in 2020, dates to be determined based on interest. Please contact the Municipal Office for details.

Ball Hockey:

Novar Ball Hockey (ages 5 and up, including adults) runs every Wednesday and Saturday, from Saturday, May 2, 2020 to Saturday, June 27, 2020.  Games start at 7:00 p.m. at the Novar Park (54 McCrandle Street). The registration fee is $15 per player. 

Registration Day will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Novar Park. The First Game is Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

Every Tuesday and Thursday night at the Novar Community Centre from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm there is karate classes, for ages 8 and up.  For more information please contact Sensei Edwin Hall at (705)-685-7146, or by email.

Muskoka/Parry Sound Area Karate Club – Grasshoppers classes for children 5-8 yrs, every Thursday from 6:30 pm to 7:15 pm at the Novar Community Centre, for more information, click on the link.

Farmers’ Market:

Our 2020 Market Season begins June 28th! If you would like to apply to be a vendor or have questions about the Farmers’ Market, please contact the Municipal Office at 705-636-5941.

The Township of Perry Farmers’ Market, located at the Gazebo in front of the Municipal Office in Emsdale, runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from last Friday in June until the last Friday in August (or longer depending on weather and demand). We are currently accepting applications for 2020 vendors. Renovations to the Emsdale Rink Expansion Project are supported by the Government of Canada through the Community Infrastructure Program.  The Township of Perry has built a small expansion to the Emsdale rink to provide public washrooms, change room and utility room, making it accessible for all to enjoy.  This will provide a warming area with benches for users to sit and put on their skates.  Please come and enjoy the Facility!
