CHANGES TO RECYCLING AT TRANSFER STATION

On March 1, 2025, the Transfer Station’s Recycling System will look a little different. As a result of the Province of Ontario shifting the existing waste diversion programs to a producer responsibility model, producers will be responsible for managing the life cycle of their products.

What does this mean for you?

Two-Stream Recycling (Fibres & Containers) will still be accepted at the Transfer Station but will be located in different bins on the Site. Recycling still requires to be separated, empty, clean (e.g. rinsed), cardboard broken down, etc. Clear Bags for Garbage still applies.
