As a result of a scheduled inspection on Friday May 6th, 2022, of the Ragged Creek Culvert between 291 and 316 Deer Lake Road, both the inspecting engineers and Working Roads Supervisor collectively made the decision to close Deer Lake Road due to immediate safety concerns to the traveling public. There appeared to be significant damage to the culvert and structural integrity of both the culvert and road was a hazard.
Township Staff, Council, and the Engineers are working collaboratively to have the culvert replaced and the road re-opened to the public as quickly as possible. There is no scheduled date for the culvert replacement at this time.
Residents are asked to continue to detour around the closure via Bevan’s Road.
